Ms. T has completely changed my daughter’s whole perspective on learning! First grade was a real challenge for my little girl. Her reading and writing was very poor from the start, as well as, her overall concept of learning and understanding new material. She had low self-esteem in the classroom and believed the work was too difficult, before attempting to do it. I was told she wasn’t ready for the first grade, and that she was on track to not passing to the next grade. So, we started sessions twice a week with Ms. T right away! Six months later, she was star student of the month! I couldn’t be more pleased! Her patience and dedication is top notch!

Our son’s reading level and test scores were very low. At the beginning of third grade, we hired Tanya Edwards with the goal of helping him improve in these two areas. Guided by Tanya’s firm, yet kind approach, he now reads fluently. And after years of dreading standardized test results, I was thrilled to see his scores rise above grade level. However, the reason we continue to work with Tanya, four years later, is something much more important than test scores. Children with learning disabilities often work the hardest, yet get the least amount of positive feedback in return. Tanya recognizes the interplay of self-confidence in overcoming a learning disability and incorporates it into every aspect of her teaching. I believe this approach accomplishes the short-term goal of improving reading/test scores, but also accomplishes a long-term goal of creating a solid foundation for a child’s future successes. I wholeheartedly recommend Tanya’s tutoring services.

From the onset of our first encounter, Tanya has been professional and thoughtful. She met with our 8 year old and in one session identified academic goals and developed a clear tutoring plan. Over the course of only one month we have seen great improvement in our child’s reading and confidence. Tanya works individually with our child and checks in with us frequently to keep us informed as to concerns and progress. Tanya has been timely and easy to communicate with.
